Plug (or Patch)

A piece of metal, normally of an alloy similar to the casting metal, set into a surface where a flaw or damage has created an unsightly or unstable area or where removal of core pins has caused holes.  Below is shown an examples of a particularly large number of casting flaws patched in a bronze casting:
