Patina

Client: rupertharris

Location: Glossary

A coloured layer on the surface of a metal, usually, but not always, copper or bronze. Patinas are naturally occurring or artificially induced corrosion products. A coloured lacquer layer on bronze is also referred to as a patina. Natural patinas on copper or copper alloys range in colour from brown to black or from green to grey. Artificially induced patinas have an even broader range of colour possibilities.
