CPH (Close Packed Hexagonal)

A hexagonal net in which the atoms are arranged in a repeating sequence ABABABA... One unit lattice has a hexagonal prism with one atom at each corner, one in the centre of the bottom and top faces and three in the centre of the prism. CPH metals tend to be brittle, e.g. cadmium, cobalt, titanium and zinc.
