Anion

A negatively charged ion (e.g. Cl- or OH-) or radical (e.g. O2)- an atom or molecule which has gained one or more electrons in an electrolyte which migrates toward the anode, the positive electrode. Anions include all non-metallic ions, acid radicals and the hydroxide ion.
