Dry abrasive cleaning: Removal of coatings and corrosion products by means of grit carried at high speed in an air jet. Grit of various sizes and hardness are available.
Wet abrasive cleaning: As above, with the introduction of water, sometimes incorporating a corrosion-inhibitor. Water softens the abrasive action, and reduces cleaning-rate and production of dust. Also referred to as 'blast cleaning'.
